July 9th, 2010

Today was the last day for the old interns. Wow...I'm sad actually...because after this, things will start to get hostile. More works will be coming our way, and more even more work will come after that...Hmm...I'm contemplating on how my life would be after this...

So, since it's the last day of those dip-shits, we had a little farewell party organized by the department. They bought two Secret Recipe's cakes, and something curly from Deli France. I'm sorry, I don't know what it is. But it's like a slice of pizza that's been sit on and is now squashed into a cone-like figure. Yeah...sounds nauseating, but it looks a lot better that what I've described though.

Well, that was our evening. In the morning, I went to breakfast with Aqbal and ignored the words of my trainer. Haha. I got back at the office sometime around 9.40. Haha. We sat at the stall, had breakfast, and just chat during the whole time. We talked about our family most of it, and shared our perspectives as children about our parents, and the other family members. Really was a depressing topic, but we were so caught up in it that we lost track of the time. Not a really good way to start the day...

Then, in the office, I continued doing yesterday's work. Actually, it's Tuesday's work, but I still couldn't finish the thing. And, yeah, I still haven't finished it today as well. Haha. But there is a reason for this though. I was asked to help with the West Glagah Kambuna block again. This time was to highlight the economics indicators from each prospect to be presented to the management and the project team. There were errors though. The Capex for each differed from one another, but the exploration wells were in total the same. Therefore, there's obviously something wrong somewhere.

Well, that was that, and I've already told you what happened in the evening. Now, I'll tell you what happened on the way home. The train was stuck! Damn. There was a sea of people at the station. And there was no-fucking-way we were gonna get in any train in the next hour or so. Therefore, we went out and watched the water fountain at the park. Sigh... But then, afterward, when it was starting to rain, we went inside and met with a whole bunch of people. Here's a list; first, Mr. Sanif with someone from UTP, Kaber seems to know him, I don't, then, Fauzan from UTP, and then, Mr. Sanif with a different batch of students. Haha. Owh, and we chatted with Fauzan at Rasa foodcourt for almost two hours. Haha. In conclusion, today was a day to catch-up with old friends, and to say goodbye to new friends... Wow, the way I say these words makes me feel like I'm already 70 and dying...

That was my day then. Owh, Stef didn't come to work today, so, another reason why this way a bad day to live... You know, my gut already told me so this morning when I woke up that today was gonna be shitty. Even yesterday was the same. But, I have to go to work though. But at least I've warned Kaber that today was gonna be sad...and it was...

Goodbye...

July 8th, 2010

They say that Thursday is the best day for work. Monday is the first day of the week, so you'll still be in the holiday mood. Tuesday's the second day, and a long way to go till the weekends. Wednesday's a so-so - everything's neutral. Friday's the last day of the week, you're too happy to work - in a few hours you'll be free from work and the office. But Thursday...you're exited cause it's almost at the end of the week, so you'll try to finish everything up by the day's end. However, this didn't work at the office today. Everyone's doing nothing...

So, let's see...what did I do today? Well, being a good intern, I continued doing yesterday's job. However, unfortunately, it's still not finished yet. Damn. The damn thing it tedious! Bull-fucking-shit tedious!! I've been doing it for three days straight and I still gotta continue tomorrow!

Well, that was what I did. Kaber did nothing and just read the top-gear magazine and watched youtube the whole day. His trainer didn't come today, so he had nothing to do. And mostly everyone else had to attend a technical course today. So, yeah, there was almost nobody at the office. People were reading novels, gossiping (not limited only to the girls, the guys there gossip too it seems), chatting on the phone, walking around the office without doing anything (literally 'around' the office), and some were also slacking off at other people's desk; especially the ones who are not in the office, and they were trying to look as if they were doing something when they're actually not. So, yeah. That was 'work' today at the office. Haha.

Well, at least they're getting paid even if the slack-off for a day. I'm not paid to do so, so I guess I'll just try to do something. Shit...

Owh, if you're lost somewhere while reading this, I'll just give a short conclusion, I did nothing today. So, taadaaa!!!...Yeah...chow...

UTP really really reaaalllyy hates me...

Wanna know what happened today? I got my first visit from the lecturer from UTP. It was Dr. Sonny. Okay, I'm fine with that. But you wanna know when did I know he was gonna come and meet me and Kaber? At 9.00 a.m. this morning, and you wanna know something else? He was also informed sometime around 9.00 as well. Shit! WTF? Do you really wanna screw me up that bad??

Okay, so, here's the full story. I asked Kaber to call UTP yesterday and ask about our first visit, since I know that they'll never be the one making the call. So, we found out that our supervisor from UTP would be someone named Dr. Alif or something. And it was supposed to be held on the 28th of June! It was supposed to be held last month! So, okaylah...nevermind that, hence, the people from SIIU said they'll arrange something else for us and they said that they'll call back in the evening. But there was nothing from them yesterday evening. So, this morning I asked Kaber to call again, and they totally forgot about us. Shit... But luckily, Dr. Sonny was still somewhere in KL, thus, the got in touch with him and requested for him to meet us today. This was what happened at 9.00 this morning. Therefore, I made a call to Dr. Sonny...the guy was still having his sleep! WTF UTP? Do you have to screw everyone else who have any relation to us as well? Damn it! Fortunately, Dr. Sonny's a nice guy, and he agreed to visit us. He arranged an informal meeting at 10.15. Wow, it was really informal. We had our meeting at the lobby of Tower 2 KLCC while standing. Haha. So, the meeting lasted for about 15 minutes, and we were done. Hmmm...so much for all the fuss about it.

Well, then we decided to go for movies since everyone else thinks that we're still in the meeting. Haha. Unfortunately there was nothing in the cinema worth watching. Damn. To have the time and availability to do something, but just to be disappointed by the lack of that something. Haih... However, we did bought tickets for Predators. But the first show was at 6.00 p.m.. So, yeah, there goes our plan for movies during that period. Therefore, we went for an early lunch and had Milano.

So anyways, back to our main topic of this blog. Well, Kaber wasn't in the office up till 2.00 p.m.. He had a convention with his supervisor as I've mentioned yesterday. So, I was alone at the office continuing my work on the modeling. But while I was working on the model, one of the staff asked me to help her out with another modeling of an Indonesian Block. It was West Galuga if I'm not mistaken. She wanted me to run the model for eight prospects and calculate the EMV for each. EMV stands for Estimated Monetary Value. Simply put, it's a level of productiveness of a prospect. In formula terms, it's the possibility of success minus the possibility of failure. So, yeah, that's what I did till Kaber got back from the convention.

Actually, I finished the job sometime around 11.00 in the morning. But the damned Words '07 didn't want to save the thing. So, my whole effort in the morning was utterly useless. Well, that was that. And so I continued doing my model till the end of the day. And it's still not finished yet. Damn. I'm gonna try and complete it by tomorrow and give it a run.

So, after work we went to watch the Predators movie we bought in the morning. It was shit. Simply shit. Damn. A bad way to end a bad day...

Well, I guess that's really it. I've got nothing else up my sleeve. Owh...just another thing. On Monday...or was it yesterday?...anyways, on one of the previous two day, I found out that Stef went on the same train as I do every morning. Haha. But she's from Bangsar, so, I couldn't really have the chance for anything. I don't think I could even get to ride in the same coach as her. But still, it's a nice thought to keep in the back of my head. A real reason to smile : )

..........

Another assignment...yesterday's was done and was good, so I was given another today...sigh...

But I've finally seen the structure of training I'm going through. My trainer wants me to learn step by step through the level of difficulty of modeling the fiscal terms. I've moved from peninsula Malaysia blocks to Indonesia now. And this one's different from any of the other PSCs I've gone through. So, I guess there's nothing to complain about then...But still...It's a lot!!! Sigh...

Well, that was the only thing I did for the whole day. I even have to continue doing it at home today. It's really safe to say that if I'm given an assignment in the morning, then I'm done for the day. I should have gone home straight...

See you tomorrow then...

July 5th, 2010

Do you know how it feels to wake up 2 minutes before your alarm goes off? It's depressing...to wake up and realize that you could have spent the next 2 minutes still sleeping, but now since you've waken up, you can't possibly go back to sleep unless you don't intend to wake up again sometime soon...Sigh...well that's what happened to me today...

Anyways, I was up and going to work. Got there quite early and was the 7th person to come to the office. Today was a really busy day. I had work to do on the weekends if you remembered, so, today there was supposed to be a discussion with my trainer regarding such. But, she commented that I should have done it in a different way, in terms of visualization. Thus, I spent the whole day doing that spreadsheet again. But I'm much more satisfied though with this new one. It's quite systematic and more manageable too. But still not completed. Sigh...it seems I've already know how I'll spend tomorrow at the office then...

Well, other than that, Aqbal joined us for lunch today. Owh, and we can't have breakfast at the shop anymore. I told you we can't do anymore mishaps while at work right? Haha. So there's that... Hence, we had our breakfast at the pantry...

Well, another interesting thing that happened today was that Kaber went to buy the Toy Story cookies from Toy'R'Us...yeah...Toy'R'Us...So, we went outside to smoke as always, and there's this little girl who was alternately staring at Kaber's plastic bag and him. Haha. I guess her thought must be, "Who's the unfortunate kid who just got mugged by this guy?" Haha. You could really see her disbelieving and judgmental expression while she was staring at Kaber. Haha. The day just keeps on being entertaining...

So, that was that, and all is in favor for me to stop...Chow...

July 2nd, 2010

Wow...It's the end of the fourth week already...time sure flies by.

Today was a busy day. Actually, this week went by quite fast. I think it's probably because I was really caught-up in work. It's been a really busy week. But, with that said, I look back at my posts through the week, I didn't really did much. But maybe I forgot to mention that it actually took a lot of time to complete even one task I did during the week. Alas, I was really preoccupied till today.

I got a new work today. It's to convert a PSC into a spreadsheet file. The terms and details within the contract would have to be understood, and turned into equations and formulas. Wow...it was a major head-breaker... I spent the whole day till noon solving that shit. And I still have to continue this weekends to finish it. Damn.

Well, other than that, we had our usual KSS this evening. Haha. I just love KSSs. The whole department's in a confined space and you can see the true self of everyone. Haha. It's really just like a big party. Everyone's enjoying themselves, and there's free food. Since every KSS is done every Friday of the week, it's really a place to just let everything go and just sit, chat, and eat. Really nice.

Owh, I forgot, we met Aqbal today. He finally showed up. And it seems that he'll be here for quite a period of time. But he'll be in Level 22 in Tower 1. But that's okay. We'll still be able to meet him for breakfast and lunch. Haha. Well, that completes the three stooges then. Haha. Unfortunately, Abal wasn't as unfortunate as we were...

Anyways, till next week then. Cherio~

July 1st, 2010

Holy shit! It's already July? What happened to June?!

Yeah...the first day of July. I just realized something, there's always a first for something here in my blog. It seems that there's always something new each day. Ah..but what I'm really waiting is for the time I'll get to say, "It's the first time my bank account reached a million dollar." Now, that would be great...

Anyhow, today? I followed these fellas to their final presentation. Fuad was presenting. It was great. He was great. I really didn't expected that from him. Haha. Well, that was that, and afterward, I continued reviewing my spreadsheet. Shit.

I did only that till the evening, so, I guess that's all I have to say...

Owh, I'll just say this, Kaber's been really busy lately since his trainer was given a huge load of job recently. Thus, the days at the office seems a lot shorter for him. Damn. And I was hoping to make him suffer to wait me. It seems I'm the one suffering.

Well, that's all, ladies...and gentlemen.....
